Summer Show '07 |

|
Our July 2007 summer production project was a satirical work lampooning the recent trend of reality programming. After two months of brainstorming and writing meetings, the script emerged exploring a reality show in the future where famous and infamous figures from history are taken from their own times and forced to live in a "Big Brother"-like house, where they engage in inane challenges. This show is an extra-special one for us, in that although the shows of previous years were based on the ideas of participants and were made up in the majority by segments written by them, this show was entirely written, from top to bottom, every last word, by the participants - quite an achievement! As always, three hot and humid July weeks of rehearsal led up to our performances at the end of July to sizeable and appreciative audiences. The show not only featured sixteen participant actors and several more as "crew," but also a special appearance by program alumnus Ted Limpert, as well as a cameo by new scene one leader Meg Flanagan. The show also marks the arrival of both Meg Flanagan and Terry LaCasse joining Greg J. Hipius in leading Scene One, and resulting in a fresh new revitalization as we "re-launch" the program with new ideas and energy.
Interested in getting a copy of our performance? As in the past, our good friends at local digital production company "Fangboy Productions were there and recording our Friday night performance, and post production on the DVDs is expected to be completed around early September. Anyone wishing to may purchase one of these DVDs when they become available - information on ordering will be posted here when they are available. If you would like a direct email notifying you when they are ready, please email Program Coordinator Greg J. Hipius at hipius@twcny.rr.com or call 437-5141 and leave a message.

And, of course, the bizarre post-closing-performance tradition of a flying tackle hug of Ms. Files (right). One can see her barely avoiding smothering by nosing through the top-left of the pile. |

Some extremely creative folks dressed the set with plenty of fun bits presumably brought by some of the characters. One of the more amusing and impressive is this framed cover (left) of a magazine presumably released by Martha Stewart during her incarceration. Note the impressive detail, including substituting the real Martha's face for the face of our own Martha (Georgia O'Donnell)... |

| Anthony seems WAY too excited to find that. Maybe it has sentimental value... ? | Lindsay and Anthony ham it up for the camera while getting into costume | Georgia realizes that Martha Stewart has much shorter hair. Hair pins? Anyone? | ||

| Janelle is in costume as the 1960s flower child, but not quite yet is she in character. | NOW Janelle is in character. Groovy trip, man. | Georgia shares her boundless confidence with the camera. | ||

| Here is Lindsay, all in costume as Scarlett O'Hara. She seems happy - she must not have broken anything yet. | We'll keep her safe with a niiiice roll of bubble-wrap. Now, let's just cover EVERYTHING in it... | Lindsey helps Lindsay with her dress. I know it's confusing. Just watch the vowels. | ||

| "Costume? Why get into costume before the show? I only need a split second to do it. Why? I'm Pat." | "I'm Perry. I don't even pretend to have an excuse." | Ericka, Jeff, and Meg visit Pam in the box office before the audience begins to arrive. | ||

| Julio is just thrilled to don that toga to play his role of Socrates. You can see the excitement in his face. | Why is it that tech crew always seems to be seen either running from or hiding from the camera? | We finally catch a picture of Jeff, even if only because he thinks we're focusing on the program. Heh heh heh... | ||

| Ethan says hello before beginning to look for his inner caveman. Ugh... | Michele is shuffling through her costume before becoming Whitney Houston. BOBBAAAAY... | Stage Manager Amanda has the right idea for a mid-summer play: find and use the nearest unoccupied temperature-relief prop. | ||

| Meg is thinking, "I'm trying to get ready, Terry. Get lost, or I will use that camera you're holding to check your prostate." | Kate, Julio, and Perry relax moments before circle. Is Perry in costume as Tom Cruise yet? I can't tell. | Katie has been set as Joan of Arc for half an hour now, while she exercises divine patience waiting for curtain time. | ||

| Ericka, now in Paris Hilton-wear, prepares for the show. | Is it just me, or does it always seem in any picture of Files like she is just barely holding it together? | There, that's better. She's smiling, AND not threatening the cameraperson... is this a first? | ||

| Anthony, set in the suave garments of Don Juan, is prepared to break hearts. | Sharisa has been hiding from the camera for half an hour, but she had to get up and cross the room eventually. Gotchya!!! | I don'e even what to guess what Ethan and Janelle are doing in this photo. | ||
